Air Filter Maintenance for Dune Riders

Shredding the dunes is a blast, but if your motor inhales sand your ride is over quick. An air filter keeps your machine alive, and it needs regular cleaning or replacement to keep performance maxed out.

There are two main types of air filters:

  • Disposable filters — swap these out when they’re dirty.
  • Reusable filters (like a K&N) — wash and re-oil them in just a few minutes to keep your engine breathing clean.

Check out the quick video below for the air filter cleaning process 👇

At Sandgoons, we live for throttles, roost, and full-sends — but that also means keeping our rides dialed so they last.

Here’s the breakdown:

  • 🛠 Check your filter before every dune trip
  • 💨 Wash and re-oil if it’s reusable
  • 🔄 Replace it if it’s disposable

Pro tip: Pair a clean filter with fresh gear. Nothing feels better than sending dunes in a crisp tee or hoodie built for full-sends
